If you are unsure about anything, make sure you read through this thread to gain more knowledge about the weeks you'll spend competing in 667 Big Brother. Although the concept is pretty simple, you might want to make sure you're familiar with the rules.
What is Big Brother?
Like I'm sure most of you know, Big Brother is a reality television show that is aired in a lot of countries around the world. In these shows, around 12-20 contestants enter a house and live there for weeks, cameras always exactly watching, unable to escape into the real world. The first Big Brother, everything was pretty simple; every week, housemate nominate in the diary room, and someone leaves. There were also tasks to keep the housemates-and the viewers-entertained. But as Big Brother goes on for more and more years, things have happened to make it more exciting; having Leader housemates, having housemates secretly know each other, and even having an exchange housemate from a different Big Brother entering.
Where Does Big Brother Come From?
Hopefully obvious to most, if not all of you, Big Brother came from George Orwell's 1940's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, in which in the future, everyone is watched by Big Brother. The cameras are always watching the housemates, and so are the public who see the housemate's antics on a daily basis.
What is a Diary Room?
In the Big Brother house, the diary room is a simple room with a wacky chair facing a camera, where the housemates come and talk to Big Brother for several reasons; to get away from the rest of the housemates, to express their feelings, just to talk to Big Brother, and to nominate each week. In 667 Big Brother, every housemate has their own diary room, because if there was only one, everyone would see what each other have been saying in the diary room, which should be secret/confidential if the housemate wants it to be. Every diary room has a secret password that you will be PM'd. Do not tell anyone your password or you will be punished. If you suspect someone has guessed your password let us know immediately.
What is the whole nomination/eviction process about?
Each week, in the housemate's nominations, everyone must nominate two housemates they feel deserve to face the public vote and possibly leave the VFD Big Brother house that week. Every Monday/Tuesday, housemates must make a thread in their diary rooms titled 'Nominations (Week _____)' and there must give two nominations, AND a reason to back up each nominations. Failing to nominate means you nominate yourself. Failing to put a reason for nominations will give you a warning. Reasons cannot be based on luck. On Wednesday, after nominations, Big Brother will reveal who faces eviction. Members of 667 will vote until Friday, where one of the housemates up for eviction will leave the VFD Big Brother house.
What do you mean by Tasks?
There are three different types of tasks. The first is a weekly task. Weirdly enough, these happen once a week, and continue from Monday to Thursday usually, although sometimes longer and sometimes shorter. These tasks usually have a theme; in the past there's been a Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy Theme, and a Superhero theme. During these weekly tasks, housemates may work as a team together to earn tasks points (see later paragraphs for information about task points) or they may work as an individual. You must do several different things to pass a weekly task, and those will be announced with the theme of the task.
The second type of the task are the weekend tasks. These, weirdly enough take place on weekends, and are usually very quick tasks where you only need to post once or so to take part in it. Sometimes there will be one winner, other times, all participants will win, and they will win task points or a special prize...
The third type of task is a secret task. These tasks will usually be given in the diary room, to give one housemate a chance to win a special prize. Secret tasks could have a huge effect on the house and twists (see later paragraph for information on twists), and could be seen as a secret mission. These should stay secret until Big Brother says, or until they are over.
What do you mean by 'twists'?
See back to the first paragraph, and note the things Big Brother has done to make it more interesting. VFD Big Brother is the same; along the way, there will be many minor OR major twists, which could affect nominations, or who is evicted. This is what Big Brother means by being evil; the twists are usually secret and evil, and are a very interesting part of the VFD Big Brother experience.
What do you mean by 'task points'?
Task points are earned by passing tasks. In the section 'Leaderboard', you can see how many task points you and other housemates have, and which tasks you have passed and failed. Getting a certain amount of task points gives you prizes and opportunities; chances to gain power, special perks, and so on. The more task points you gain, the better the reward you receive.
What do I do in the other sections?
You live. As in the real Big Brother, housemates live in the house, find a form of entertainment. This is where you can do things that you would do in the rooms, and where you can get to know your housemates. It's more interesting then it sounds.
What tasks and twists do you have in store?
[taps nose]
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask in the diary room and I'll give you an answer, and probably add it to the above guide.
