Welcome, in this thread I will be discussing some of the actors in the highly anticipated alternate version of this scene from the Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Stick around to hear about the famous names and the new faces, the great talents and the talentless greats that will be on your screen , plus some of the more interesting casting rumours that will sadly never be.

First news relates to the Count everyone loves to hate. The rumors of Jim Carrey or Neil Patrick Harris luckily turned out to be false, Olaf is meant to be sinister, not some comic relief, these events are unfortunate remember. A number of actors were considered for the role, Christopher Walken was a close second but the role had to go to John Waters, one of the most sinister men in the business of show.

The next three most important roles to be cast were that of the Baudelaire Orphans themselves. Despite pressure from the upper management to use Selena Gomez as Violet, Mr Snicket himself actually had to use his veto to stop that from happening. Some critics were shocked and critical of the eventual casting of Amandla Stenberg, but were supportive after viewing their performance as the eldest Baudelaire. Here they are, normal, and with ribbon in inventor mode.

Klausy B up next, the bookish one, and one of the easiest to cast positions, Mr Snicket himself whilst watching fellow Netflix show Stranger Things saw Finn Wolfhard and shouted out "That's my Klaus!"

Say hello to our Sunny! They say "never work with children or animals" so we won't. Sunny will be entirely CGI and motion captured by Andy Serkis. Her voice shall be provided by Kristen Chenoweth, our first choice Tara Strong already played the role in a rival production and we wanted to avoid any conflict of interest. m.youtube.com/watch?v=VlzHfqoj7q4

Pairing of Andy Serkis and Kristin Chenoweth into one supreme being was unanticipated but completely approved

Kevin, Colette and Hugo. These three freaks are being portrayed by The Joy Formidable. We're very lucky that they were able to take time out of their busy touring schedule to play these roles for us.

I like the casting so far which I wanted to say because the next thing I'm going to say is completely off-topic
I just made the connection in my head and now I'm reading all of your posts in Him's voice as I'm sure was intended and they were good but now they are so much better

Haha awesome. My current concept is Him, the showbiz reporter who only reports on casting decisions he himself makes.

Our next announcement is the young lady portraying Camrenlita Spats. No, that's not a typo, Carmelita will be played by Camren Bicondova, based on her amazing performance as Selina Kyle in the tv show Gotham she's definitely got the brattyness down pat.

Now, when it comes to librarians, and the actors who portray them, it's hard to go past Anthony Stewart Head. So we won't. Meet our Dewey!

The role of Justice Strauss has gone to Doona Bae, who has proved in A Girl At My Door that she is able to handle a role that requires the delicate balancing of working for law and justice whilst also caring for unwanted children when needed.

I realise I'm not really doing the other casting rumours like my OP promised, it's sometimes hard enough to find a person, let alone second and third place.
